This Cultured Life: Badass Bitches, A Feminist Tour Of The Metropolitan Museum Of Art

Looking for a museum tour that will totally blow your mind? Look no further than the New York City’s MET Museum Hack’s Badass Bitches tour. A pro-feminist jaunt in the world of fascinating art at one of the most prestigious museums in the world.

Did you know that less than four percent (4%) of all the artists featured in the Modern Contemporary section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art are females? However, seventy-six (76%) of the women featured are nude. That is just some of the magical wisdom instilled in you as part of the Badass Bitches tour.

The purpose of Museum Hack’s Badass Bitches tour is to highlight the amazing art produced by women. Setting off on this tour was an exciting adventure. With only seven (7) other people, the experience is intimate and engaging. Whether or not you are a history buff or art nerd, this tour really showcases incredible women throughout the years who have contributed to the world of art funnily and interactively.

The Badass Bitches was far from your traditional, highbrow tour. While unexpected, it was enjoyable to have a guide break things down in plain words, making the art a lot more relatable, and the women artists behind them.

Being a first-timer at the MET, I was definitely overwhelmed by the beauty of everything. But the tour guide (Jen) instructed us from the beginning that we will be walking at a New York City pace. And boy did we! Walking fast and talking fast, it was an experience that can’t be summed up in one word.

Although the Badass Bitches tour is meant to be a pro-feminist approach to conquering the MET, it’s not JUST for women. In fact, we had one guy on our tour which made me realize that there are plenty of feminist guys out there!

Equal parts entertaining and extremely informational, the Badass Bitches tour was superb, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to spend a couple hours at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Thank you to Museum Hack for kindly sponsoring this post.  Although I was invited to go on this tour for free, all opinions are honest and my own.  I would never push something I didn’t believe in personally!
